Princeton, we have a problem.....
I always wondered what it would feel like to answer a multiple choice test, take wild guesses, and luck out totally. In fact, every multiple choice test I take, I spend (on average) three times as much time daydreaming about such a situation as I do studying. I wish that would happen to me someday, I think.
Well, today it did.
So I'm sitting is a claustrophobic cubicle in Mumbai, wishing to all the darker Gods that I had studied harder, when the comp throws up my GRE score*:
I just wish I hadnt spent so much time convincing myself that the GRE is useless....
(*Of course, the worst thing about the GRE's scoring pattern is that the computer shows you your score for a couple of seconds, but you only get confirmation when your scores reach you by mail two weeks later. Which leaves you with the abiding fear that you read the scores wrong, and that two weeks later you will get a letter informing you that you got, say, a 670 on your GRE, leaving you looking like a bit of a twit, really. Needless to say, I have the creeping heebie jeebies that exactly that will happen. Especially since 670 sounds far more likely to me than 1560.)
